Rama applies 24 years of technical and communications experience to her passion: social development for Arab Youth. Rama ran Baraka Ventures, investing in a portfolio of social impact and tech startups. Among the portfolio were BarakaBits, the first Middle East social publisher and news media focused on a positive narrative from the Middle East and Baraka Advisors, a communications agency managing PR for causes in the Middle East.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and a Master’s in Engineering Management from George Washington University
Rama served on the board of The TechWadi, PCRF, PACES, The Impact HUB – UAE, Challenge to Change and Nakhweh. She advises other non-profits and social-impact businesses. She’s a founding member of Arab Women in Computing and the first regional Women Angel investment Network – WAIN.
Ayman Alafifi is an environmental engineer with a passion to finding simple and sustainable solutions to our most challenging water, wastewater, and environmental problems. He has a master’s degree in environmental strategy and sustainable development from the University of Surrey, UK and is currently a doctoral candidate and a researcher in water resources engineering at Utah State University. He has 5 years of engineering consulting experience where he designed and developed optimization and simulation models for hydraulic, hydrologic, and ecological systems. He’s a strong advocate for client-oriented and stakeholder-collaborative methods in developing and validating hydrologic models. He’s an IEMA certified environmental auditor, and a Hazwoper OSHA certified.
Ahmed AlKarriri is the founder of Green Knowledge Community, GKC. He is a civil engineer with a passion for finding simple and sustainable solutions to our most challenging social and environmental problems in Gaza. He has a master’s degree in business administration from the Islamic University of Gaza, Palestine. He has a very good experience in knowledge management practices where he adopted a model for knowledge management practices for SMEs in the ICT sector in the Gaza strip. Also, He is working to develop best practices for community-led development approach that fit youth groups in Gaza.
